The play is the thing
I have decided that I do not get out as much as I should. A trip to the Gielgud theater last night showed me what I was missing. A production of “The Scottish play” set in Stalinist Russia. The set was starck and eerie. Patrick Stewart playing the man who would be king switched between a confident ambitious man and self doubt on a turn. The trip from king’s favorite to tyrant was doubly blessed by Kate Fleetwood’s performance. She takes the reverse role, starting as a strong ruthless woman and moving slowly into madness as her husbands thoughts turn from her and to his worries for his throne. This is a production I would heartily recommend to all of my friends.
