Data Acquisition
Well I am slowly importing my wine data from paper to Electronic format.
I have cataloged all wine in the living room, including all the tasting notes I have been provided by Vingt. Currently I am using Bento for data entry, but am starting to feel I should write a set of web pages. Bento allows me to export to a CSV file so none of my current work is lost.
What is driving me is that Bento just does not seem flexible enough. The interface is just too clunky. A set of 3 or 4 web pages backed onto a MySQL databse will probably set me up just as well. So now I need to examine the data I have so far and decide how to import it.
The second advantage of a web page is that I can make the data available on Judith’s ipod or the TV. Saving me having to run upstairs to update the database when ever we drink a bottle.
